About Our Dance Classes
Joy of Dance offers fun and energetic dance classes for kids in the GTA. Kids learn the FUNdamentals of dance, concept of body awareness/wellness, body coordination, or social skills, (making friends) and how to build self-esteem. Qualified dance instructors teach all our kids dance classes in an age-appropriate setting. Students and parents are welcome to visit us to view our kid-friendly classes and facilities.
New COVID-19 Requirements for Class
* All students must bring their own water bottles
* Students and staff must wear face masks
* We are doing staggered starts for class to minimize hallway traffic
* There will be 15 mins between classes to clean and move students in and out of class safely
* Students cannot linger at the studio. They must arrive a few minutes before and leave right after class.
Scheduling Note:
We are closed for Easter Sunday, Monday April 4 & 5 and Victoria Day Sunday, Monday May 23 & 24.
Dance Showcase
Our Spring Showcase is on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the John Bassett Theatre in Metro Convention Centre.
Available Classes
Ballet 3-5
Ballet dance classes for kids 3 to 5 are a blend of creative movement and early Ballet. Developing balance, expression, and coordination is achieved through a playful approach that includes running, jumping, twirling and skipping. We make it fun by storytelling through movement and music.
Ballet Attire
GIRLS
Shoes: (canvas or leather ballet slippers in ballet pink or skin tone) Tights: ballet pink or skin tone, Body Suit: any colour, Skirt: if desired. Hair: tidy, preferably in a bun
BOYS
Shoes: (canvas or leather ballet slippers black or white), Pants: Fitted or loose athletic shorts or black or navy fitted legging, Top: white fitted t-shirt, Hair: out of the face.

Hip Hop 3-5
In our Kids Hip Hop classes they will learn the FUNdamentals and latest moves now popular in music videos. Age-appropriate choreography.
Attire for Boys and Girls
Clothes: loose fitting e.g. long/short sleeved tops and short/legging/sweatpant bottoms, Shoes: indoor sneakers, preferably not black soled, Hair: anything that helps keep it out of their face.

Registration Note:
We have created a schedule that we thought best suits the ages and levels of students. The small studios will only have 10 students enrolled and the bigger studios will have 12.
Pandemic arrangements: If there is a second wave of the virus and the government shuts us down, we will do our best to transition into virtual classes but cannot guarantee that all classes will be provided virtually. No refunds or credits will be provided for government cancelled classes. If you register for class you are agreeing to take this risk.
