The student agrees to abide by the rules and regulations of the Joy of Dance and acknowledges that these rules and regulations may change from time to time. Please come prepared with proper dance shoes, no outside shoes in the dance floor areas. Please check in at reception before class. We want to say hello and make sure you get to the right studio.

For adult classes only, if you are unable to attend a class, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. By doing so, we will recredit the class credit or lesson to your account for later use, prior to its expiration date. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of the class start time) will not be refunded or credited back to your account. Joy of Dance reserves the right to remove students from a class because of excessive lateness and/or absence, disruptive behavior, and/or non-payment of classes or other charges due.

Fees are due before getting on the dance floor. All dance packages are valid for one year. Group classes with each private lesson are concurrently valid with private lessons (one lesson, one class each week).

To ensure your spot in class, please pre-register using our app or website. Classes require a minimum of 4 participants to run. If a class does not have enough participants to run, we will recredit the class credit to your account for later use, prior to its expiration date.

Our single drop-in classes are valid for a month from the date of purchase. Our drop-in packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Expiry of term classes, private lessons, and workshops vary. Please note, all sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be shared. Drop-in packages may be extended for three (3) additional weeks for a $10 fee. Includes all remaining classes. Extension starts the day of expiry and is valid for three weeks from that date. Drop-in packages may be extended one time only. NO extensions for promotional packages, intro offers, any other promotional deals. All promotional items are final sale. 

We do not give refunds.

To assist our instructors develop a connection with our dancers and help keep them focused, all parents must vacate the individual studio for the duration of the class.  Parents are welcome to view the class on the studio TV screen in reception.

No make-up classes, credits or refunds will be offered for any missed classes of for workshops or special events. Students may join any of these workshops up to the second week; however, the discounted workshop fee will not be prorated and the pay per class rate will apply.

Special Workshops require a minimum of four students. No refunds or credits once enrolled in the Special Workshop. Not transferable between students.

At Joy of Dance, we are dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for dancers, staff, and visitors alike. To maintain this, we ask that all individuals uphold the following standards:

Safety First

Any behavior that compromises the safety, comfort, or well-being of others—such as unwanted physical contact, inappropriate comments, or actions that make others feel unsafe—will result in an immediate review and may lead to removal from the studio.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Joy of Dance Centre reserves the right to deny service, membership, or access to anyone whose actions violate this policy or negatively impact the safety and enjoyment of others.

Respect for Others

We ask that everyone treats one another with kindness, respect, and professionalism. This applies to all individuals, regardless of their age, gender, sexual orientation, background, or experience level. Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

If you experience or witness any concerning behavior, please report it to a staff member or email us directly at info@joyofdance.ca. All reports will be handled with care and discretion.

You (and your children) will be participating in physical activities, and as such, you realize there is an element of physical risk involved, for which you accept full responsibility, and you hold harmless the staff and management of Joy of Dance in case of an injury.

Any limitation in ability to participate due to medical condition must be given in writing at time of registration. Failure to give notice in writing of such condition is a pledge that no such condition exists.

You and your agents, personal representatives, and assigns, hereby release and discharge Joy of Dance and its staff and management from all liability for personal injury or property damage rising out of the use of the premises and participation in activities. Every dance class participant, and his/her parent or guardian (if the player is under 18) must read, execute and deliver this waiver to Joy of Dance staff and/or faculty prior to the commencement of a class or event. In consideration of the right and opportunity to participate in classes or events conducted by Joy of Dance Centre, the undersigned hereby acknowledges and agrees as follows:

I (who am the participant’s parent or legal guardian if the participant is under 18 years old) hereby consent to the use without compensation, of my/his/her name and/or likeness, biographical material and/or voice in publicity, advertising, social media and Joy of Dance Centre website. In addition, the undersigned (on behalf of the participant if the participant is under 18 years of age) forever generally and completely release and discharge and shall indemnify and hold harmless Joy of Dance Centre and its owners, employees, directors, officers, agents, sponsors, partners and licensees and each other party affiliated with Joy of Dance Centre and each of its owners, agents, directors, officers, employees, sponsors and partners against and from any and all claims and demands of every kind and nature whatsoever, for damages or injuries, actual or consequential, past, present or future, arising out of or in any way related to Joy of Dance Centre, including but not limited to any claims of injury from participating in or observing the class, the loss of personal property by theft or otherwise during the class, or any publicity relating to the class. The undersigned acknowledges that of its own free will he/she has chosen to participate in classes and/or events. I understand and acknowledge that the activities carry with them minimal level of risk of injury. I certify that I am aware of, and accept, these risks and that I am mentally and physically prepared for dance class. This general release shall further apply to all unknown, unanticipated, unsuspected, and undisclosed claims, demands, liabilities, actions or causes of action, in law, equity or otherwise. This Waiver shall bind the heirs, personal representatives, and successors of the undersigned, and inure to the benefit of the Event Organizers.
