The 19th Annual Taste of the Danforth Festival returns From Aug 9 to 11, 2013 to give Torontonians and its visitors a little taste of Riverdale. Joy of Dance Centre celebrates Taste of the Danforth for it’s 6th year. With over 1.3 million visitors attending the event every year to experience the food, the culture and the fun why not get people dancing as well? 

Joy of Dance Centre located at Broadview and Danforth, takes the stage to present visitors with a little taste of what dancing for joy is all about. 

This year,Joy of Dance is presenting dances performed by the younger kids and teens from the Summer Intensive Dance Camp Week. Attendees will see a little Hip, Hop, a little Jazz as well as some Contemporary Lyrical. The Joy of Dance Junior Dance Stars are kicking up a little East Coat Swing. “We’re very proud of what these kids have accomplished and we are incredibly honored to be in a position to offer dance to youth who need financial support.” says Mark Read Ballroom Teacher and Faculty Member at Joy of Dance. Mark will also be performing a little East Coast Swing with student Natalie Fourier.  Also taking the stage is Urbanesque and AiM (Artists in Motion), Toronto’s hottest Urban Dance Companies created and directed by Hollywood Jade and Shameka Blake respectively. Joy of Dance sponsors both.

“Taste of the Danforth has been designed to bring the flavor of our community in all respects.” says Jennifer Jones, CEO of Joy of Dance Centre. “Dance is the perfect expression of our joy, our diversity and our expression as individuals and a community..”
